The Jaguars finished with only 2 wins in the first season.3 seasons later they were in the big game of EFL BOWL IV versus a team looking
to make some history of their own. The Philadelphia Eagles with a win could become the first team ever to finish the preseason, regular
season, and the post season undefeated. That would put their record at 23-0. The Jags started the game driving down before Brady Quinn fumbled
at the Eagles 34. The Eagles could not take advantage and later fumbled themselves on a later 1st quarter drive. The defenses for both
teams were spectactular in the first quarter. The game was at a stalemate after the first quarter. Just before the half, the Eagles finally
got on the board when 4 time League MVP Donovan McNabb hit backup TE Kris Wilson with a 7 yard touchdown to make it 7-0 at the half. In
the 3rd quarter, the Eagles finally strung together a long drive that ended in points. The drive went 12 plays for 68 yards, lasting almost
7 minutes off the clock culminating in a 5 yard touchdown pass to TE LJ Smith. After a 3 and out, the Eagles got a field goal from David Green
Akers from 25 yards out to make it 17-0. Right afterwards, it looked like the Jags would get on the board as they went on an 11 play drive of
their own. However Austin Murphy's 51 yard field goal missed wide right. The Jags could not recover from the miss. After a 3 and out from Philly,
Brady Quinn got sandwiched between Broderick Bunkley and Jevon Kearse. Quinn fumbled and Norm Schroeder recovered at the Jags 1 yard line. 2 plays
later, Jermiah White did the rest as he pounded the ball in to make it a 24-0 Eagles lead. The defense did the rest as Jevon Kearse, Mike Patterson
Broederick Bunkley, Darren Howard, and Lito Sheppard all got a piece of Brady Quinn who been sacked 6 times on the day. Kearse was named DPOW and McNabb
was named Super Bowl MVP for the 3rd time in 4 years. Mcnabb finished with 236 yards and 2 TDS on 21 of 25 passing to help complete the perfect season for the Eagles
as the Eagles become the first dynasty in the EFL. |
